I’m super excited to announce my adult romantic comedy STUCK ON THE SLOPES will hit shelves in 2025 with Conquest Publishing!
STUCK ON THE SLOPES is perfect for Emily Henry fans, dog lovers, and people who love either skiing/snowboarding or cheesy ski movies from the 60s-90s. A former pro-snowboarder & burned-out corporate ladder climber team up to save a failing ski lodge… what could go wrong?
I can’t wait for you to meet Rachel, Juniper, & his service dog Sasquatch. So without further ado, here are some quick introductions to the cast!
Main Characters
Rachel Friedman, the protagonist
Rachel is a corporate marketer for a timeshare company headquartered in Florida. When her annual review doesn’t pan out the way she hoped, she’s left without a performance-based raise that she needs to afford her rising rent costs. After doom scrolling on LinkedIn, she swaps her flip flops for snow boots to take the job as a live-in resort manager at a Colorado ski lodge.
Rachel loves Mystery Science Theater 3000, funky earrings, and is close with her family. People tell her she looks like Fran Drescher in The Nanny.
Notable songs for her on the playlist:
- When The Sun Loves The Moon by Reinaeiry
- I Can See You by Taylor Swift
- Colorado by Renee Rap
- Gorgeous by Taylor Swift
- Lavender Girl by Caamp
- Delicate by Taylor Swift
- New Romantics by Taylor Swift
Juniper Hart, the love interest
Olympic snowboarder Juniper Hart was a superstar on the slopes—until an accident forced him off his board. Left with chronic pain from a permanent injury, Juniper struggles to find his purpose now that his athlete days are behind him. When he purchases a failing ski lodge in the Colorado mountains, he only knows one thing: he needs help from someone other than his service dog Sasquatch.
Not particularly close with his family, Juniper enjoys hot baths and gentle hikes. People tell him he looks like a long-haired Logan Lerman.
Notable songs for him on the playlist:
- Northern Attitude by Noah Kahan
- The Archer by Taylor Swift
- Disorder by Mallavora
- You’re On Your Own, Kid by Taylor Swift
- Sunlight by Hozier
- The View Between Villages by Noah Kahan
Sasquatch, the furry wingman
A brown Newfoundland, Sasquatch is Juniper’s service dog and The Best Boy. Sasquatch can detect when Juniper is in pain or anxious. Some of his tasks include fetching items, opening doors, and grounding Juniper when he’s distressed.
Supporting Cast
Edgar
Edgar is the head chef and manager at the ski lodge’s attached restaurant. Duties include cooking, running the restaurant, and helping Juniper pull his head out of his ass.
Mia
Mia is Edgar’s adult daughter who helps around the restaurant. When Rachel starts working at the lodge, they become fast friends as Mia helps her understand ski culture.
Jack
Jack is Rachel’s coworker at the timeshare company in Florida. An IT professional, he and Rachel were work besties before she moved to Colorado to take her new position. He plans to visit the lodge with his fiancé once it opens.
Allison
Also known as AJ, Allison is a professional snowboarder signed by the same agent as Juniper. After working alongside each other for years under their agent Rick, the two are as good as siblings.
