About the Author

Official Author Bio

Jessica Salina is a romance author based out of Washington state. She’s had a lifetime love of reading, and after getting lost in other worlds growing up, decided to create her own. Before writing romantic comedies, Jessica self-published a superhero romance series, Riverpeak Heroes. As someone with chronic pain and CPTSD, Jessica strives for positive mental health and disability representation in her writing. Her goal is to make sure that no one feels alone and always knows they’re worthy of love. When she’s not writing, you can find Jessica taking pictures of cool mushrooms on hikes, chasing waterfalls, or cosplaying from her favorite anime, video games, and Marvel comics with her husband. You can find her at jessicasalina.com.

Non-official Author Bio

Hi, I’m Jessica! You can call me Jess if you want.

My first story was a fan-fiction in a composition notebook that I wrote when I was a kid. I have been hooked on writing ever since.

Not much has changed since this picture was taken of me in elementary school.

My fanfic days inspired my career choices, leading me to earn my Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Florida Gulf Coast University, where I graduated cum laude in 2015. I also graduated with two minors: political science and interdisciplinary studies.

I currently live in the Seattle area with my husband; we don’t have any pets, but we do have an 18-inch lucky cat statue, so I think that counts. By day, I work for a digital marketing agency, where I do a lot of SEO copywriting for our clients (check out my portfolio!). Before that, I was the producer for a local CBS affiliate station in Fort Myers, FL.

Yes, we had stormtroopers at our wedding (and yes, I used to be blonde)!

My creative passions don’t stop at writing. I’m a cosplayer and even volunteered for a few years with The 501st Legion, a group of screen-accurate Star Wars cosplayers that partners frequently with The Make-A-Wish Foundation and similar local charities. I also enjoy dressing up as superhero and anime characters for local conventions (which is how I met my husband!).

My husband Anthony is the shoretrooper from Rogue One and I’m the TIE Pilot!
Charlie Cox is still the best celebrity meet-and-greet we’ve experienced at a convention! This was from MegaCon 2019.

I like to put a piece of myself into each character. This is unfortunate for my characters because the piece of myself I give them is usually some form of trauma, but what’s a story without a good conflict, right?

I’m looking forward to sharing my stories with you! Stay in the know with my newsletter.
