Stuck On The Slopes Spice Guide for Readers

Stuck On The Slopes Spice Guide for Readers

Whether you love a little (or lot of) heat in your fiction or prefer to keep the door closed, knowing a romance book’s “spice level” ahead of time can be a game changer. I know for some, reading about sex on the page is something they’d rather avoid altogether. However, spice levels are so subjective. What some people consider 2/5 chili peppers might be someone else’s 5/5 chili pepper rating.

Chapters in Stuck On The Slopes with Spicy Scenes

While my superhero romance novels are spicy, they’re mildly so. However, my romantic comedy Stuck On The Slopes is a lot spicier.

For this novel, I wanted to include a spice guide so readers can feel empowered and informed enough to make the decision that’s right for them. I’ll try to keep this as spoiler-free as possible while still providing enough context for those who need the content warning to make a decision.

Chapter 6

There is a masturbation scene on pages 76 and 78. There is a break in the scene on page 77.

Chapter 8

One paragraph describes a sex dream on pages 101-102.

Chapter 14

On pages 172-173, a character has a realistic sex dream.

Chapter 15

There is a detailed sex scene on pages 178-183.

Chapter 19

There is a detailed sex scene on pages 229-231.

Chapter 22

There is a detailed, semi-public sex scene on pages 226-270.

Chapter 23

A brief sex scene is featured on page 277.

Can you skip the spicy scenes in Stuck On The Slopes?

For the most part… probably? Though I don’t recommend it unless it’s a trigger for you (obviously, protect your mental health!). I also will never write anything nonconsensual on the page or committed by a love interest in any of my works, so that’s a nonissue here.

When I write sex on the page, it’s so much more than just sex. It’s transformative for the characters, influencing their development (often for the better, given I write romance and not horror!). I like to focus on how they’re feeling, even more so than exactly what they’re doing.

However, I also don’t want anyone to miss any 100% critical information should they decide to not be in the mood for spice. Do with that what you will!
