Fan-casting the Riverpeak Heroes Series

Fan-casting the Riverpeak Heroes Series

Given my Riverpeak Heroes series of superhero and supervillain romance novels is self-published, film or television adaptations are a pipe dream at this point. But it’s fun to imagine actors in the roles, and I’ve gotten the question of who I’d cast in a movie before and came up nearly blank. Time to remedy that!

Not My Time (Riverpeak Heroes 1)

Rory Miller

For Rory, the star of Not My Time, I’d cast Sarah Hyland. Sarah’s got naturally curly hair and once I learned that, I couldn’t not see her as Rory.

Kane Kelly

In Not My Time, Rory describes Kane as good-looking in a “nineties Ethan Hawke” kinda way. Since we can’t go back in time, Dylan Sprouse is the next best pick. Especially with his hair grown out!

To Be Normal (Riverpeak Heroes 2)

Elijah Baron

The superhero sidekick who finds himself as the love interest of To Be Normal, Elijah was hard for me to fan-cast for a really long time. And then my husband and I did a rewatch of Kick-Ass, and once I saw Aaron Taylor Johnson’s curls, it all clicked. While I pictured Elijah as having more red tones in his hair, the overall look is still right.

Hannah Cohen

The new girl in town with secrets and superpowers in To Be Normal, Hannah was another tough cast. I haven’t seen Bridgerton on Netflix (I know, I know), but in the promo, Hannah Dodd caught my eye as having a perfect look for Hannah!

Play With Fire (Riverpeak Heroes 3)

Noah Sato

There is zero question in my mind for who should play Noah, the love interest of Play With Fire, and that’s Ryan Potter. Ryan looks identical to how I pictured Noah in my head and after seeing his work as Beast Boy in Titans, I know he could pull it off flawlessly.

Amy Brewer

Amy, the female protagonist of Play With Fire, is another one I don’t have to think too hard about. I love Maya Hawke in Stranger Things and think she looks so much like Amy. Amy’s character requires a lot of depth and care, and I think Maya would treat her with the love she deserves.

Etched In Ink (Riverpeak Heroes 4)

Jolene Gautier

Jolene, the protagonist of Etched In Ink, has pink hair and is covered in tattoos, so we’ll have to use our imagination a little here. But I really like Kathryn Newton for Jolene. Kathryn can pull off a wide variety of styles, so I think she’d be able to pull off the dichotomy of Jolene being covered in ink but also loving pink and being very girly.

Sterling Harrison

Since Sterling, the love interest of Etched In Ink, has gone prematurely gray, this is another fan-casting we’ll need to use our imaginations for. For Sterling, though, Timothee Chalamet’s high cheekbones go unrivaled. Plus Timothee is such a fantastic actor, and Sterling would be a role that required a lot of depth, so I think he’s got the talent to pull it off as well.

Read the Riverpeak Heroes series on Kindle Unlimited

Since this is all just wishful thinking and fun, a film or television series isn’t in the works. (Though I’d love for it to. Just throwing that out there. Manifesting and all.)

But if you like the idea of a superhero or supervillain romance, then you can read the entire series for free on Kindle Unlimited. It’s also available as an ebook for purchase or in paperback and hardcover via Amazon.
